NOM 8/2 (Schedule)

ATTENTION: 

As our plans for the photo taking and testing after CNY celebrations were foiled by foul, thundering weather, you are required to ATTEND and come on Wednesday Friday Week 6. We need to finish up our photo taking, interviews, and final testing.

Tasks on Week 6.

Wednesday:

- Everybody bring your stopwatch for the interview, which is the survey using photos.

- Finish up photo taking. (We can only start at 1.35pm, due to school rules)

- I need to go CCA at 3pm, and Rachit I know you don't have soccer training on Wed, so until then, we will finish up the photos, select the photos, and I will send you the test photos.

- After 3pm, or if we can complete earlier, the rest of you will go to interview people. The steps are as follows.

• The survey will consist of 10 different pictures with camouflaged people inside (in analogue and digital camouflage)
• The participants of the survey will be selected randomly from SST students.
• Each person in the group (4 people) will interview 10 people, hence a total of 40 test subjects.
• We will show them the 10 pictures (on the MacBook). The subjects will seat upright with an appropriate distance from the table to prevent discrepancies.
• We will unveil each photo, and start the timer, until the test subjects points out the camouflaged person in the picture. Select a random photo to show the participants of survey
• We will continue the same process for the other 9 pictures.
• We will record the data in the Data Processing form, while finding the average timings.
• This is done individually. 

- At home, post on 24/7 fb group, try to ask people in 07 to come for the test on Friday. That accounts for 20 people if all present. We need 30 test subjects.


Thursday:

- We will finish up the interview.

- We will start the test part 1 at 2.30pm.

- It will end soon. After that, try to get 25 other people to come on Friday, 1.50pm.

Friday: 

- We will start preparing for the test at 1.35pm

- The test subjects will arrive. Begin tests.

- After that, those free will analyse the results of the spotting test, while the others not free (Rachit, me and Yasha )will go for CCA.

- Begin with survey results. Yasha Lai is to send every member before CCA the entire spreadsheet of the results from survey. Sanjana, the only one free will begin to analyse results of the survey and give us conclusions (a well-written, official one) by Saturday morning.

- I will send everybody the results and conclusion/finding of the spotting test by Sunday. Free yourself for some online discussions.

- On Monday, we will consult Mr Ng for advice of starting the report. 

NOTICE REGARDING RECORDING of SURVEY RESULTS

- You will find the link of the data collection form on the blog (Scroll Down)

- There is a 'new average' and 'old average' on the form. The new average is the average of the timing taken to spot the new DIGITAL camouflage, while the old average is the average of the timing taken to spot the old camouflage.

- The photos with someone wearing DIGITAL camouflage is identified by 'DSelect' as the photo file name. Those of the old STRIPED camouflage is identified by 'SSelect' as the photo file name'

- The Data Collection Form is to be filled in by YOU, by keying in the timings of the person being surveyed, and by keying the the average time for each type of camouflage.

You have to understand the importance of this. The deadline is monday. If you are absent without VALID REASONS, NOT COOPERATING, or trying WASTE TIME AND BE FUNNY, the higher authority will settle you. If you tell us that you are unable to come, saying that you have CCA at 3pm, join and help during the period before you will be unavailable.
